    DVB-T2 is a newer mechanism for sending data, and uses a more effecient approach modulating data broadcasts. To receive data from DVB-T2 broadcasts you'd need a DVB-T2 tuner, since these have the demodulator hardware required receive the DVB-T2 signal. Older DVB-T-only hardware will not be able to lock onto these signals.

    The broadcaster can send SD/HD on either DVB-T or DVB-T2. Countries like New Zealand, Norway, France etc use DVB-T for transmitting their HD channels. Some other countries like the UK etc are making the move to HD a lot later and instead chose to use DVB-T2.
