Inconsistant recording issue

For abit, I've been using WinTV to direct capture videos from my PS3. I've come across a very annoying issue, which is the inconsistancy in the video that comes out. Sometimes It'll record the video and it works perfect with video and audio just fine, other times(more then most of the time) it'll record but will only play sound. Here's what my folder looks like with most of the recordings I've done:



The ones that only have the Video/Music note symbol either don't work or will play but with either out of sync picture or just audio. And here's where the issue is most notable:


I often use Vegas for editing videos and this is where many of the videos I see work or don't work. If the video shows a picture, I get both picture and sound. If it looks like this, I just get audio as in the photo. How can I fix it where all the videos I record will work with Picture and sound instead of just select ones? Its a frustraiting issue and converting them to a format that works either makes them lose quality or they aren't compatible with Vegas.
