Default Nova HD S2 - Extender makes WMC throw "no signal" errors!?

    Background

I have a lounge PC with two cards, a freeview one from black gold and a Nova S2 HD card from hauppage.

I also use an Xbox 360 as a media extender, a lot.

For a year or more the setup has worked ok.

This is on a win 7 pro system, with the hauppage driver 2.126.28225 (from memory).

    Problem

Note - in all of this the freeview card has worked fine, hence why i am posting for help in this forum.

A few months ago the satellite channels generally stopped working. WMC kept giving "No TV signal available" errors.

A couple of weeks ago I used the Hack7mc instructions to completely wipe all the TV database gubbins, and re-tuned both the freesat and freeview cards.

Everything was working fine when I tested it on the PC, but I left for a few days and my wife reported that the freesat channels were broken...using the extender.

I have just done a fair bit of testing and can report:-

If I reboot the PC, I can happily watch all the freesat channels on the PC including the UK HD ones.

If I start the extender, when the PC does NOT have WMC running then I can watch the freesat channels on the extender.

If WMC is loaded on the PC then the extender immediately starts reporting "No TV signal available". This error then propogates to the PC as well, and the channels no longer work on the PC either.

A reboot fixes the problem on the PC, but as soon as the extender is involved it all breaks again.

Just to confuse matters further, generally the HD channels do not suffer this problem - they can be watched on the extender, and/or WMC on the PC.

    Attempted solutions

I have tried deleting/uninstalling the extender, both on the PC and the 360, and then re-linking the two but it has made no difference...

    Questions
Generally I guess does anyone have any good ideas for fixing this?

More specifically is there any more useful info I can provide, that would help determine a fix?
