Is there a reason you need to record in m2ts and not mp4 in arcsoft?
I've recorded several PS3 game footage using the PlayStation 3 (M2TS) setting and I would like to edit them using Final Cut Express. Problem is, FCE only uses MP4/ MOV format and so I have to convert the raw M2TS files first.
Any recommendation of which video converter to use, the one that will not lose the quality of the video?

I had a problem recording with MP4 long ago where the recorded video was flickering and unstable. I also remember people complaining about it too and said to use M2TS instead. I've not used the MP4 setting ever since. Maybe now it's the time.
Are there any differences between recording MP4 and M2TS in terms of video quality?
No quality is the same.
MP4 for the Win ;-)

Just recently got in the habit of converting M2TS into .mkv using mkvmerge GUI which is almost instantaneous in converting, splitting and merging files. Really the best free and frequently supported/updated tool I have come across thus far!![]()
Well, Sony Vegas Pro 11 does need a converter, because it either crashes completely with Showbiz's .mp4 files or doesn't import the audio stream with .ts or .m2ts files - I suspect because of the 119 fps bug. So I need to use 'tsmuxer' to demux the audio from the .ts file and import them seperately into vegas.
i am using Bros Video Mts Video Converter. Is very good
