Colossus Recording Issues
I just purchased the colossus and Im having 2 very specific issues while recording my xbox360 which make it pointless to use.....
1) Im able to record 1 or 2 games (aprox 5 minute) fine, but on the 3rd game the recording will freeze. In order to get the card back online, I need to preform a hardboot of the system. Ive tried restarting the Showbiz, refreshing the capture window, everything.... No luck.
2) At random times the card will record at a higher FPS than 59.94. The FPS will vary, the latest test was recorded at 351 FPS. The QT will show 20 seconds of gameplay, but will play far beyond 20 seconds in media player. Also, the audio on these specific clips (where the FPS is really high) doesnt work when imported into adobe premiere. Audio on other clips that render fine, will work.
Ive tried the card WITH an HDMI splitter, and WITHOUT (same results)
Im recording 720p
My drivers are up to date (from the website)
I've updated my Showbiz software
Im running Windows 7, Phenom II x2 processor with plenty of RAM
PLEASE HELP. Im about to return this product, but I like the way it works, WHEN IT WORKS

Re: Colossus Recording Issues
I have found the Colossus capture card most stable with NextPVR-->Colossus device settings with HDMI + SPDIF-->record in manual mode. I had trouble with audio sync issues via HDMI that I was not able to resolve despite a significant effort, but SPDIF seems stable. I do not use an xbox, so my info may not be perfect for you.
The colossus will freeze or be erratic with HDCP. Try other settings for stability comparison (480p, etc.). Try audio input with SPDIF if possible. Try composite cable if possible.
if you want to use TME showbiz (erratic for me), be sure you have the right settings (.MP4 file format for xbox) and adjust your bit rates to fixed or lower the variable max...check audio inputs, etc.
Read through the entire Colossus support section for setup tips--esp with xbox. FAQs are good too.
