Default Hauppauge Signal Strength Indicator v.28026 -- DOES NOT WORK -- HVR-2250

Hello. I have not been able to get the Hauppauge Signal Monitor to work with my HPVR-2250. The HVR-2250 works great with WinTV v.7, I am receiveing all my local channels, and I am able to tune and record fine. When I run th sig monitor .exe--either stand alone or with Win7 running-- a popup comes on that states

"Did not find supported ATSC/DVB demodulator, or device is not powered on HCWSigMon."

I would like to tune my antenna better and know the quality and dBm of the input signal and the Haup Sig Mon is the only way to do it without buying an expensive S-Meter. I have installed various antennas from high gain to very low gain to attenuate the signal as another post suggested, but the sig mon will not work regardless of the signal coming to the card. There are no amplifiers being used and no other cards other than the Colossus and HVR-2250. I have reinstalled drivers, downloaded the Sig Mon utility a few times, and still the same result. All drivers and Win7 apps for the HVR-2250 were downloaded directly from Hauppauge and clean-installed.

Do I need to remove any DirectShow filters? Do I need to install a Winows 7 BDA driver? Does this meter work with ATSC 8VSB?

Antenna setup: Outside installation, grounded mast, 75ohm coaxial run from antenna (300ohm-->75ohm) to grounding block-->New CyberPower coax surge protector -->HVR-2250. I also bypassed the surge protector, but same result. Nothing else is attached to the HVR 2250 and I am only tuning local USA ATSC (8VSB) OTA.

    Location: California, USA

    PC equipment: Win7 Ult x64; FX8120 at 3.4GHz cool and stable stock; 16 GB DDR3 1866 G.Skill RAM; 1000W SeaSonic Platinum PSU; Asus Sabertooth 990FX mobo; 1GB GeForce 210; Vertex3 MaxIOPS 120GB + 2TB Seagate Barracuda Green; Hauppauge Colossus + HVR-2250.

The following is the log created by the sig strength indicator:

I also tried the alternative "Standalone DVB-T Signal Strength/Utility" Utility I found on the Hauppauge forum. It did not work either (perhaps b/c I am tuning ATSC 8VSB?). When running the utility it flashes open and then quickly closes. Here is the log ScanChannelsBDA created:

Default Re: Hauppauge Signal Strength Indicator v.28026 -- DOES NOT WORK -- HVR-2250

    **Update

Hauppauge support tech advised that my Colossus card may be interfering with the signal meter. As a reminder, I have both the Hauppauge Colossus capture card AND the HVR-2250 installed. I was able to get both cards and the sig meter to work by doing the following:

    1. Uninstall the signal meter
    2. Disable the Colossus in device manager (disable both the encoder and capture components)
    3. reboot
    4. reinstall the sig meter
    5. verify the sig meter works by opening up WinTV and the sig meter, flip through channels to see the signal, etc.
    6. enable the Colossus card (encoder and capture)

After doing this, everything works great for me and I can leave all devices enabled. I hope Hauppuage updates their support website to warn Colossus owners who install the HVR-2250!
