Where has the "Aspet Ratio" option gone?

I used to be able to un-tick a checkbox called 'Keep Aspect Ratio' in the configuration pages, and this would allow me to resize the WinTV7 application's height and width independantly from one another. This was very usefull when I was also working with other windows at the same time as watching WinTV.

I should also note thet ticking/unticking the 'Auto-size window' tick box in the configuration page does not have any affect. I can still only resize the window by dragging the bottom-right corner if it is in the same aspect ratio - rather than before where I could drag the bottom-right corner, but still size height/width individually.

This isn't it's purpose. This setting tells the application to resize the window automatically between 4:3 and 16:9 depending on the aspect ratio of the channel they're watching.

I think you can do what you want by editing the settings.xml file, and setting <LockedAspectRatio> to 'false'. Backup the file before you edit it though. Edit it with Notepad.exe.

I don't appear to have a settings.xml file in Program Files\WinTV\TVServer or Program Files\WinTV\WinTV7

Look in the WinTV folder in your Captures folder. For example I have configured my captures to be saved in F:\TV Captures and my settings.xml file is in F:\TV Captures\WinTV

On Vista and Win7 it's in c:\users\public\wintv by default.
