Default Freezing since changing to Sandy Bridge and now Ivy Bridge processors

I have the HVR-1700 and it was running fine with my Core i7 940 system and then I upgrade motherboard and CPU to a Sandy Bridge-based system and freezing occurs on first launch of WMC. The TV signal plays back for a few moments and then it freezes. I need to re-launch to get it to stay working.

I recently upgraded again to Ivy Bridge and another new motherboard (Z77-based). This time I had to completely clean install Windows 7. Installed the very newest 64-bit drivers for this card. The problem continues. Freezes within a minute of WMC launch. In fact the freezes can be a little worse now. WMC becomes unresponsive and Windows 7 can't even offer to end it. It eventually closes after a minute or two. Upon re-launch it behaves normally. This happens every day first launch.

Does this sound like it's a bizarre Hauppauge driver incompatibility with the Sandy/Ivy Bridge CPU's??? Anyone else experiencing this?

Have you updated both the VGA and sound card drivers ? both of these components are used by the system. The 1700 is a certified MCE product but it relies on the sound and graphics card drivers. Also make sure you have the latest BIOS as there have been well documented issue's with both Sandy/Ivy bridge ;-)
