Default is it safe to use HVR-4400 on a shared LNB with a dual power pass splitter?

Hi, I have the HVR-4400 to be used with freeview TV in New Zealand.

There is a current dish on the house I have just moved into which would have been installed by a professional Sky TV installer.

I have received advice from the official NZ freeview website that in order to use a freeview decoder safely in conjunction with a sky decoder you must use a single power pass splitter. There is currently a dual power pass splitter installed, which has obviously been used by two SKY decoders simultaneously in the past.

Is it safe to use the HVR-4400 using a dual power pass splitter on a single LNB?

I don't want to risk damage to my HVR-4400, my computer, or to the neighbours Sky decoder.

    cheers

A Satellite Tuner needs to talk directly to the LNB of the DISH, you cannot use a Splitter when using DVB-S signals.

You should have a Dual of Quad LNB and run another cable from the DISH to the card.
