    Default Windows 7 hangs when closing WinTV V7 (HDR-900H)

    Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be able to offer advice on the following please? I have a new HP Windows 7 based PC. As this has the new PCIe expansion card slots, my old WinTV PCI board didn't fit. I therefore purchased a WinTV HDR-900H USB with WinTV V7 which works great. However, when I close WinTV down, the PC sort of crashes and becomes very slow to respond. It can take 30 minutes to shut down and is pretty much unresponsive when you click on anything. When you next boot the computer, all username and password information for websites is lost, but the pc is back to normal until you start and close WinTV again. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this problem and if there is a fix for it?

    Have you downloaded and installed the latest WinTV 7 cd 2.5a ?

    Are you connecting directly to the USB 2.0 port at the back of the computer ?

    Have you also check for updates to the latest Graphics and sound card drivers ?

    Robo_Raver,

    Thanks for your reply. I'll have to double check on the version on WinTV, it's the one that came in the box that I installed so if it's a previous version, I'll download and install 2.5a and give that a go, thanks for the suggestion. The graphics and sound card drivers are the latest version as the computer checked for any updates the first time I connected to the internet. The USB stick is connect to a USB 2 port a the rear of the computer where I have a cable tv box connected to it.

    Darren it always better to go directly to the manufacturers site for the latest updates (e.g. If your graphics card is a desktop ATI or NVidia then go to their website, the Windows Update normally does not have the latest or only has the bog standard version).

    Its the same principle as our software, your CD may be a few months old and the latest software will always be found on the site (As it's easier to update then physical media !).

    Just to update you, I've installed the latest version of WinTv and that seems to have solved the problem. Thanks very much for your help.
