    Default HVR-2250 (or other) support using Windows as a guest OS in a Virtual Machine (VM)

    Hi,

    Is it possible to use Hauppauge adapters in Windows 7 (or 8 shortly) that runs as a Guest OS in a Virtual Machine? The VM hypervisor would be either VMware or KVM libvirt (not XEN)

    In my case the card is an HVR-2250, but I'd be interested if any others work as well.

    "Dual Booting" has got to go.
    Thanks

    I wanted to configure a capture card (different manufacture) in an ESXi client, and what I determined that the only types of devices that are supported are a USB type device. So any type of card other that network or san would not be supported (to my knowledge).
    I am running libvirt on my redhat desktop at work with a windows kvm client, I will look monday to see if you can configure something other than a USB.
    That is at least my two cents....
    Running the following:
    --> Win7 Ultimate(64b) with WinTV v7.2.31050 (CD 2.7) with Extend on HVR-2250
    --> Microsoft Media Centers on DCR-2650
