Default HVR-900 connects as USB1 not as USB2

    Hello
i have one HVR900 since 2007, and always work well until 5-6 months
now its mainly connected as USB1 not as USB2.0, and then doesn't work, wint tv says "device not found"
not always as USB1, sometimes connect well as USB2.0, i have to unplug and plug the device until in sometime connect as an usb2.0 device and then works fine
the port usb where is connected is usb2.0 (without doubt), i've checked every usb2.0 on the computer, with same result, with the usb cable and without
the computer have 2 OS, win7 and win vista, happen the same in both
first option that i tried was use hcwclear an uninstall every usb2.0 in the computer to force windows to reinstall the latest controller
i installed another 4 USB ports more with an PCI card, that uses other usb controllers and it happens the same: mainly connected as usb1 sometimes as usb2.0
i've also checked the bios, all seems to be ok, no changes on it and worked previously with same configuration, i put attention on any usb related configuration

what could be happen with the hvr-900? its broken? any idea how to solve this problem?
i had to buy another dvb-t device, that always connect as usb2.0, on any port in the same computer

please, help me with any idea, i would like to have the HVR-900 working as always
its annoying unplug/plug the device until it connects as usb2.0, becuase sometimes never happen, and its on the back of the computer

ps. i also cleaned the 4 usb connectors, in hvr and computer

Sounds like it's faulty. The one check to do would be to try another PC, and see if you get the same behaviour.

I have the same symptoms as described above with my HVR-900. This also started about 8-9 months ago. I can't be sure whether mine is connecting as USB1 but it will only work by continuous removal and re-insertion of the tuner into the USB port until it gets detected properly. I am running win7 with Wintv7 2.5.
    logs attached.

No reply here from Hauppauge, however I have found that slightly warming up the stick a few degrees before using it actually fixes the problem temporarily. I know it sounds daft but it does work! There are other posts on the Web which suggest putting the stick in an oven but I found that warming it close to the power supply fan output on my computer for a few minutes does the trick and makes it connect as USB2...Honest!!

i've test the warm up trick, and it works
i've plugged the tunner to the usb ports before and connects as USB1, after a few time very near a bulb light when it warms a bit then the tunner connect as USB2 in all ports!
tested in other laptop, using as warm up source the same heat of the laptop
same result first cold as USB1, next hot as USB2

how could this be working? any ideas Mr X
