Disappointed
- 1 ... I installed a new WinTV Nova-T stick on a Windows-7 Professional SP-1 64-bit machine to find it incompatible.
Most things worked but hitting the cog-wheel to get to the options locked the computer. Two re-installs did not help.
Are there 64-bit drivers available?
- 2 ... I then installed the thing on an XP Home SP-3 machine. It works except that I cannot sort the channels into any sort of sensible order. Drag from left to right in the Channel Manager works for the first five channels, but the sixth and subsequent channels are added at the top. How do I arrange that the channels are added at the bottom?

Re: Disappointed
Sorry for the issues you are having.
1. The NOVA-T Stick should work fine on 32-bit or 64-bit and has done for many years. Are you using the latest CD 2.4d from the web site? When you say "lock" is the entire PC locked forcing a hard power off or is only the application itself locked?
2. Are you in the UK? It should sort them by their LCN automatically. If not try deleting all the channels and do a re-scan it should indeed put them in the right order.

The application locks, but it leaves the machine unuseable due to the TV screen having greyed and it cannot be killed, even with Task Manager, so a reboot is nonetheless required.
As far as I can see it works OK apart from locking up when Options is requested. In XP Home it works perfectly apart from the Favourites problem.
The CD I have is WinTV-7 v2.2D SD. Although I downloaded v2.4d, for some reason didn't use it. I think I'll try it now on the Window 7-64 machine. Fortunately with a stick it's fairly easy - no swapping of cards.
Unfortunately, yes.

Depends what an LCN is and what one regards as the right order. I want to sort them with BBC ONE at the top followed by BBC TWO, then BBC THREE etc., sorted by the name and not the channel number. Sorting them by the channel number is a chaotic mess with radio mixed up with TV and several instances of the same programme ...
If I re-scan, surely Win7 will sort the channels in the order which it finds them, which will lead to an alternative version of the chaotic mess I have now?
As I see it, dragging the channels from the all-channels list to Favourites would simply duplicate the order of channels in the main list less the ones I don't want. A fairly pointless exercise.
Regards, and thanks for your input.

Later:
I installed the WinTV-7 latest version download on the Windows-7 machine, unfortunately same problem, locks up at the Options cogwheel. Makes no difference if I run it as administrator or run it in Compatibility Mode as XP. Clearly it isn't compatible with a 64-bit system.
On the XP machine: as regards sorting the channels, I eventually found the up/down buttons on the all-channels page and have now solved this problem by sorting the all channels list into the order I want, so there's no need for a Favourites list.
I'll take up the 64-bit question with Hauppauge.

Re: Disappointed
The locking up has nothing to do with 64-bit, it may be an issue on the PC itself (not the fact it's 64-bit)
Can you post the log.txt from the bad machine?
