    Default WinTV won't run

I'm trying to start my WinTV program so I can watch TV, but it won't run when I double-click the icon. I see the process in the task manager, but no window comes up. I purge the running process and run it again, but same result. I have Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit, HVR 1600.

The instructions given for opening the logs directory require running the application. My application won't run. Where on my hard drive will I find the logs directory?

I have the same problem. I open WinTV 7 today using the icon and get the startupup logo, but the screen goes blank and I don't see WinTV. WinTV Extend on the iPhone does the same thing - I hit the App icon but nothing happens. The card itself is working fine using another replication [XBMC an MediaPortal]. Did this ever get fixed? I am using wintv7_cd_2.6c. Log files attached. Windows 7 Ultimate edition on the 64-bit machine.

I am having the same issue. I have installed latest drivers and software, and WinTV won't run. Driver seems to be recognized and without warnings.

I ended up getting this working, but only after I installed Windows 8 (I suspect a fresh install of Windows 7 might also have worked). I'd have to say I am not impressed with the way WinTV is distributed and installed (Hauppauge must be the only software company left on earth that insists on distributing its software on CD!). The total silence from Hauppauge technical support to this and it seems many other questions also doesn't impress me.
