    Both.

Shows first frame of video but it never starts (and cpu usage does not show any encoding on the server side)
    Thanks

Good news, the new streaming does work with XBMC.

Now how can I change the settings of the Capture settings of WinTV? Is there some registry entries that I can tweak to fine tune the videobitrate? (The Good/Better/Best settings leave much to be desired).

From digital channels you'll always get whatever is being transmitted. ie, broadcaster chooses video bitrate/resolution/etc.

You can tweak the bitrate in the registry for analog recordings, or those from Colossus or HD-PVR.

Since I use the Colossus and HD-PVR I would like to tweak those settings. Where in the registry are they located?

They can be found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hauppauge\TVServer\HDP VR.

    It's HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hauppauge\ TVServer\HDPVR on 64 bit versions of Windows.

    Does the

    AnalogBitrateMode

determine if it is Variable or Constant Bitrate?

    Yes. From memory, 0=variable, 1=constant

OK, so the presets were "variable" but set with the avg/min/max all set to the same bitrate.
