Default Scheduler, from drought to flood

I discovered after my last post that I was not running the latest version of Win TV, so I downloaded and installed 2.3f to see if it would help. I had four recordings this morning. The first two recorded twice with staggered start times using both tuners of one 2250. The second and third recordings were recorded four times each!

Here is a list of the files created and when they were supposed to run.

Supposed to run from 5:23am to 6:08am:

The last sizes are small because it ran out of hard drive space. Note the leading "M" (the recording drive letter) and the multiple date/extensions. This only happens with the scheduler: Live TV recordings operate normally.

    Thanks again,

I had similar results after upgrading to 2.3f from 2.3d, and have gone back to using 2.3d until this is fixed.

    Update:

It has not once made a single-copy recording since the update. It "normally" (ha!) makes two recordings for each one scheduled. I believe two overlapping recordings causes the second one to record four times. That is what is happening right now as I type this.

Of possible interest: There are only two TV icons in the system tray even though there are four recordings. Hovering over them indicate they are for the first two of the four running.

To bpweir: I am probably going to stick with this version. As long as I can keep enough HD space so that the multiple recordings can finish, I'd rather have four recordings than none at all.

    That's the latest,

    Some more information:

Well, it's still missing recordings. I was monitoring it last night and noticed that only one of two recordings had started. At that time, there were three recordings taking place: Two for the recording that did just start and one left over from a dual recording. I ran a copy of Win TV and when I tried to tune in the station for the recording I was missing, I got the "no tuner available" message. At that time tuner 1 of the first 2250 and both tuners of the second 2250 were recording, but tuner 2 of the first 2250 and the 1600 were "sleeping." One of the three recordings had to stop before I was able to tune the channel.

    Update:

It's getting weirder. For the last few days, Win TV has been making only one recording per scheduled recording. And I have not changed a thing. Not even a reboot!

The last double recording was on 6/2/2011.

The only thing even slightly different is that I usually have the scheduler window open so I can keep an eye on it. Lately it has been closed. I doubt that could make a difference, but I have a recording coming up soon and I have the scheduler open. If I get double recordings again, I'll report back. Note that I have the scheduler window open from the Hauppauge->Advanced Options->Open Scheduler (only) menu. I do not have Win TV itself running.
