Does HVR-900 & Ubuntu 11.04 work?
Has anyone been able to get the HVR-900 (65018/B2C0) DVB-T to work with Ubuntu 11.04 (x64), Debian or some other variant of Linux? So far I am having no luck, I just installed the latest Ubuntu on my desktop, then added the Video 4 Linux software which has analogue drivers for the hvr-900 and then the player software, none of which work. It seems to be the driver layer that's failing as I've tried all the video players I could find include Kaffine & VLC.
Dropping down a layer, I can't get any results running dvbscan, w-scan or scan, I get no channels found as it can't find any transponders. Modprobe fails to return anything, what's confusing is that the drivers seem to have installed properly, when the stick is plugged in, it does appear in the /dev/dvb directory, and the /dev/video too.
This may be an Debian problem as it fails with the latest Debian release too. Could it work with Fedora?

Check your dmesg output, and make sure the firmware is installed. If you don't have the firmware, you can get it here:

Not that I understood what it was or why I needed it until I found this:

I have the stick working but the reception quality is poor, I'm not picking up as many channels as I do with WinTV.
