Artifacts, pixelation & flickering problem on HD-PVR

Hi guys,

I need some desperate help as I'm all out of ideas on what to do, ive had this box going on a month now and my recordings are messed up with slight pixelation artifacts with red tint, flickering a small retangle box with lines moving up and down like a sea horse now and then if you look close! I have tried old & the new 1.5.70 drivers, I have reinstalled\fresh installed countless of times to XP 32 bit & W7/Vista 64bit, I have tried the supplied cable aswell as a different compponent cable, I have also tried the offiical XBOX 360 HD Component cables and there is notacable atifacts on the 360. So I know there isn't anything wrong with the Foxtel IQ2 or cables as you can see the 360 has the same symptoms using official cables, I'm totally stumped....

Any help would be much appreciated, i'm dying to get this thing up and running properly.

It sounds like you are using the dreaded mp4 format.
For some reason recording as "xbox 360" setting on arcsoft media program produces awful mp4 pixelations and lines and sometimes even distorted sound.

Try swopping the setting to "playstation 3"... this records as a .m2ts, don't worry the hd pvr will still record your 360 on the ps3 setting.

If you are using the ps3 setting already then i wouldn't know what to suggest, but this issue usually relates to the 360 setting and mp4 it produces.

If it is only for the recording and not when playing then i would say that is the issue.
However, if you ar egetting these problems whilst playing to, then it could be an issue with the hd pvr.

Let us know if it works or not.

Hi mate,

Actually I'm using the PS3 (mt2s) container setting and have been all this time. Interference shows up on the preview too. I tried capturing with preview off but still plauged with the same issue.

Edit:Forgot to mention i'm maiinly testing this on the Foxtel IQ2 cable box. But also got the interferance on the 360 using the official cables.

I can't say for sure then.
Perhaps it's worth sending off for a new one? how long have you had the hd pvr?
