Default my solution to wintv 7.xx crashes

    asus I7 2630qm 4 gb
    4 cores

My wintv was crashing in program and bluscreen with no apparent reason.
changing the video renderer did not solve the problem.
now i use this prog to set core affinity ,
    http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...ad-144105.html

i run it every time when i use wintv wich sets the cores to 2 ,at first i only used 1 core but this gave to much lag in changing channels.
it's much easier to use than taskmanager because it saves the affinity in the prog so it only needs to run once and can be closed afterwards.

updating the wintv gave even more troubles so i use 1.3
the laptop is also much cooler now and the processor load is now down to only 5-10% ,at first it was at least 30%.
hint to hauppage...update and improve your progs...

Default Re: my solution to wintv 7.xx crashes

Did event viewer not show what module the app was crashing in. I'm not seeing any crashes myself here on my i7 970 6 Core (12 in Total)

The latest CD 2.2d version already limits itself to 4 cores by default due to some crashes in 3rd Party decoders.
