HD PVR Setup
Hiyas ,
could someone confirm if I have my set up is correct to record HDTV at the resolution it is being broadcast (as high Resolution as is being broadcast) . I want to have my recording to happen on my desktop PC . My desktop PC has a Video Mate E900F PCI tuner card in it . I will hook up my HD PVR through a HD set top box.
1. External aerial input to my HD PVR , component hook up from my HD set top box to my HD PVR .
2. Output from my HD PVR (with all Component hook up for HD) to my existing tuner card which has a S-video to component hook up .
3. USB from HD PVR to my desktop computer .
Will my recordings be recorded in HD ? , IE / 720 P or greater ? The only reason I have to use S-video is because my video card & tuner card do not have a component direct hook up . Would I be right in saying the recording will be HD (or whatever is being broadcast) , but what I am viewing on my desktop computer screen would only be 480 P maximum because I am going through S-video .Dont want to go to the trouble of buying a HD PVR if it is not going to do what i want it to. The only reason as I am not happy with current TV tuner card is I cannot record in HD (720 x 576 maximum) . Will the above hook up work ? I am yet to buy the set top box or the HD PVR , but I am ready to do so if it will work as I want it to .
Thanks for your help in advance
Regards Deejkay
