Hauppauge 1600 HVR 74141 no QAM

First I did search and I have tried the genpci.ini and still QAM channels are now detecting

I have a 950Q and it work perfectly(QAM & analog), but on my 1600 no QAM, analog works, as does FM

I have tried everything from registry edits to installing and reinstalling new drivers
Edit: QAM option is there and it scans but finds nothing
But when I use my 950Q it works

I had the exact same problem with my 1600 HVR and was able to fix it by adding a +10db amplifier on the cable which goes to the digital input of my 1600 just before it enters the computer. Although this is not the best place to put an amplifier, it allowed my 1600 to pick up about 20 clear QAM channels. The 1600 must require a stronger signal because all my digital TV's are able to pickup the channels without the amplifier.

Already tried the 10db amp still did not work. I wrote Hauppauge they said the digitizer is not working and game me an RMA

issue solved turns out it was the digitizer was bad sent it back to hauppague and it now works
