Look under settings from the web interface from the ipod/iphone 4, you should see resolution options. In particular (i4) prefixed to the highest ones. These are the native res of the iPhone4.
I installed the latest web update and within WinTV settings, I see the correct version number. I can't tell if the new Extend features are there. My original WinTV 7 CD was in the drive when the update was applied. I'm specifically looking for the higher resolution profile support to try it out on my iphone 4. Is there some easy way to confirm the new features are present?**** WHAT'S NEW TO THIS VERSION ****
WinTV v7.2 (WinTV Extend) changes:
- Fixed aspect ratio issue on certain NTSC boards in WinTV Extend
- Fixed aspect ratio being marked incorrectly inside the MPEG Header of certain NTSC boards
- Fixed H.264 content aspect ratio being shown as 4:3 instead of 16:9 in WinTV v7
- Fixed some issue with streams stopping after a few minutes on certain signals.
- Added Android Support (requires Android 2.2 or higher with Flash support)
- Added "Local" and "Internet" profiles on a per device basis, so it will remember the profile used for your iPhone AND the profile uses for PC streaming.
- Added new profiles which allow much higher resolution streaming. Resolution, Video bitrate, Audio bitrate and buffer size are now customisable. Profiles can be edited in Extend.xml
*** N.B. Higher Resolution and bit rates require MORE CPU power on the streaming server PC ***
- Added support for HE-AAC and E-AC3 audio in WinTV Extend.
- Added Audio only support for FM Radio and DVB-T Radio channels
- Using new Encoders which utilises multiple cores and can also utilise Hardware H.264 ENCODING on a suitable graphics card.
- Fixed issues with Aspect Ratio not working in WinTV Extend.
- Added de-interlacing support to WinTV Extend
- Reduced channel tuning times in WinTV Extend
- Added Multi board/client support to WinTV Extend.
Thanks,
Carl

do a complete uninstall (and then run hcwclear to make sure) put your original CD in the drive then install again from CD 2.3a web download. Don't do the install from your original disc.

yes.
What version did you have installed before? If you had Version 2.1 or higher you can back up the database file from
C:\Users\Public\WinTV\Channel Database
and restore it after doing a clean install.
If it was an older version i.e 2.0 or less then you will have to start afresh as the database changed in version 2.1

Right, your release notes said that, but I'm thinking I don't know this for sure.
It's probably okay to redo this again because it's likely the channel lineup changed anyway since I last set it up. I just loathe this step due to the amount of time it takes to scan the channel spectrum.
The HWClear and reinstall worked. I now have the local and internet profile options populated.
Thanks, Mr. X.
