Default HVR 900, wintv 7 and Flash Media encoder

    Hi all

i have spent the last week trying to get this to work with no luck.

    I bought Wintv 900 HVR - 65018

I am trying to stream a channel (private of course!) But i am hitting a brick wall. Heres what i have done so far.
    • Using windows 7 I Installed wintv from disk - did not work so downloaded wintv 7
that worked fine but would not work with Flash Media encoder (FME)
The encoder just showed static, i opened wintv, choose the channel, closed it, opened FME ---- You get the point!
    • I read and read about this and figured XP service pack 3 was my best bet. This worked great! I was able to see and stream the channels in FME "BUT" i could not get the digital channels. I thought that maybe it was down to the drivers so i went back to Windows 7, removed everything, installed the newer drivers but kept the old player, no luck.
    • The next thing i tried was installing wintv on vista, again the disk installation did not work so i downloaded the up to date drivers and ran the wintv v6 player, all i got was static again.

This is driving me MAD! I can get wintv to work but not with FME
I think the closest i got was with XP as i was streaming the analog but it would freeze when looking for digital. I even tried copying the complete database from w orking installation to the xp one to try manualy input the channels. Didnt work

PLEASE PLEASE Help me!! i dont care what OS i need tho xp would be great and my first choice.

    My CPU details are:

I have an Acer Aspire x3300
AMD Athlon II (x4) 630 Prosser 2.80 GHz
    4GB RAM

The OS i tried on this are:
    Windows 7 Home Prem 64bit
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    Windows Vista Home Prem 32bit
Windows XP Pro SP 2 and 3

I'm pretty sure Flash Media Encoder only does analog, like broadcasting a web cam. It probably doesnt understand how to control a DVB-T tuner.

You can stream digital channels to a web browser (around the home, or across the internet) using the Hauppauge WinTV Extend though.

Why do they charge us for this anyway when we pay enough for the hardware?

I'm not in that part of the worlds, but I think this is it: http://www.hauppauge.eu/boutique_us/...lg=lg_us&num=0

Either way, there is an updated improved version coming in the next few days, which existing Extend users will be able to download.

The normal WinTV v7 comes with the all retail non MCE Kit products. The charge for WinTV v7.2 (WinTV Extend) is simply a small charge to cover the extra licencing and shipping of the CD involved for the WinTV Extend (iPhone streaming app)
