You can have 4 tuners under Windows 7, and there are registry changes you can make to allow even more.
Hi Folks,
I'm new to this forum so forgive me if this question seems simple:
I currently have a HVR 2200 working nicely in my Win7 Machine with two Linksys 2100 Media Extenders.
I was wondering if I could add another HVR 2200 and get WMC to work with 4 Digital Tuners. I can't seem to get a good answer from general web searches and don't want to invest in a new card until I know for sure.
Many Thanks, Laurie

I don't work for Hauppauge - I just use their products: Nova-HD-S2
Thanks for the info Stig - 4 tuners is what I need. I assume that's 4 digital tuners - not 2 analogue and 2 digital?
Can anyone confim that using 2 x HVR 2200's together would work OK with WMC?
Thanks, Laurie
Thanks for that - I'll buy another 2200 and give it a go.
Many thanks to the forumvery helpful!
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I've been trying to find the registry changes I need to make to enable 3 tuners but can't seem to find them anywhere.
My Windows 7 Home Premium MCE is telling me it supports only 2 tuners. All MS updates and SP1 is already installed.
Currently I have a Hauppauge DVB-T PCI card installed, a Compro DVB-S and I'm trying to add a Hauppauge PCTV nanostick DVB-T2 290e.![]()
Hi, as far as I know all versions of Win 7 should support 4 Tuners. I have a similar setup to you with 2 tuners on a Happauge 2200 card and 1 tuner on a USB stick and it works fine.
Obvious I know, but have you made sure you have a MCE edition of the driver for the USB stick aand run through MCE's tuner setup routine again?
Sorry I can't be more help.

I should have mentioned - no registry changes were needed for me..
Hi Laurie, I let Windows 7 auto install the nanostick driver. How would I know if it's the MCE edition?
The tuner is detected by W7 Media Centre and if I tell MC to use only the nanostick and the DVB-S then they both work fine and I can watch & record all DVB-S, DVB-T and DVB-T2 channels like I should be able to. The issue is, I'm limited to two tuners simultaneously whereas everyone else seems to have native support for 4! Ages ago, I remeber seeing some webpages that mentioned some registry changes to allow more than 2 tuners, but darned if I can find them now! Hoping I don't have to go for a complete re-install of Win7 (even though it's not that much trouble).
Hi, if the USB stick works on i's own then it must have the right driver. By all that I know it should work!
I remember seeing something ages ago about registry hacks, probably on Vista which I think was limited to two tuners but can't remember where I'm afraid.
Sorry I can't help more & good luck with it, LaurieH
