    Default WinTV v7 - New CD 2.6c (7.x.30312) available

    The download version is FREE upgrade from previous versions of WinTV v7, WinTV v6 or WinTV 2000.

    *** WARNING ***

    If you have had CD 2.4b or higher installed you can either upgrade OR if you uninstall, when you reinstall, you will be prompted if you want to use the automatic backup of your channel database which is located in C:\ProgramData\Hauppauge\hcwChanDB_5.mdb

    You WILL require your original CD-ROM to be in the drive during installation. If you do not have your original CD-ROM you will need to purchase a replacement.

    WinTV v7.2 HD with WinTV Extend is available to purchase here:
    (WinTV v7.2 has the additional benefit of WinTV Extend Streaming Software)

    ** WinTV v7.2 Extend will only be installed if you purchased the CD-ROM from the web store **

    For WinTV v7 SD, WinTV v6 or WinTV 2000 the web download does not contain the H.264, AC3, HE-AAC/LATM Decoders for Watching High Defintion broadcasts. N.B. Some countries now use H.264 for regular "SD" broadcasts. You will require WinTV v7.x HD to view these channels.


    **** WHAT'S NEW TO THIS VERSION ****

    Change log since CD 2.6b

    - Fixes an issue with CD drive letters higher than H:\ showing a message about entering your product code
    - Fixes USB Live2 not being detected.

    Supports Windows 8! We've made lots of installation tweaks for Windows 8. Under Windows 8 you MUST have .NET Framework 3.5 (which includes .NET Framework 2.0) installed for WinTV v7 to work. This is not installed by default like it is on Vista or Windows 7. This installer will install it from Windows Update for you automatically.

    If for any reason you need to do it manually, you can go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn windows feature on/off and it's there.

    New Features:

    - Adds support for HD PVR 2. Customers with an original HD PVR 2 CD will be able to install the application from the web site.
    - Will warn the customer if a recording is in progress and allow then to cancel shutdown
    - Hardware Acceleration is enabled by default on Windows 8

    Bug Fixes:

    - Fixes WinTV Extend not working under Windows 8
    - Fixes LCN issues in Italy and other regions, where not all channels had LCN data
    - Updated Satellite.xml and Terrestial.xml
    - Updated H.264 Video decoder fixes potential hang on channel change with Hardware Acceleration enabled
    - Updated E-AC3 decoder fix a crash on Polish DVB-T


    ** Netbook Users **

    If you have a USB product then you are now able to install WinTV v7 on a netbook by simply entering the CD product code when prompted. This is the CD part number on the bottom of the CD starting CD-WINTV7. For PCI/PCI-e products or if you have purchased WinTV Extend from the web store, you can call Technical Support who will authorise your product for installation.
