Default Win TV Ministick scans ok but then no signal

I have recently bought a Win TV Ministick HD and have the following problem:

Win TV7 v7 scans channels and finds 10 fta, but when I start live TV I get "no signal" and black background for all channels. The two lights on the stick switch on during the scan but then switch off and never switch on again during live tv viewing.

I have been able to watch 5 channels using the Ministick in Windows Media Center, but this is not an ideal solution as WMC cannot find all of the channels that I should be able to view.

I live in Denmark and am running Vista. I have installed the latest Win TV and drivers available. I am using an internal antenna and I have a reasonable reception as the signal monitor turns green when it finds channels during the Win TV7 scan and when I am viewing channels on WMC. I tried ScanChannelsBDA_UK, followed the instructions but I only get a message saying "failed to connect filters in graph".

What is the problem? I've spent hours trying everything. Can anyone help?

Brief update: it seems WinTV7 is unable to "communicate" properly with the Ministick. Every time I start the software or finish scanning for channels and go to "devices" in the settings menu, it tells me that my Ministick (and Win TV-HVR-1200) is available. But when I click on Tuner setup it tells me that "the device setup wizard has detected a new device that needs to be installed. Device: Win TV Ministick (000DFE721EC5). Please select type of channels...."

Needless to say, I have set up the device dozens of times, and the tuner finds 10 FTA channels (plus as many encrypted channels) every time.

Still waiting for someone to shed some light. Nick

    Problem solved!

For some mysterious reason WinTv v7 sees 2 devices on my computer: WinTV-HVR-1200 and WinTV Ministick. I disabled the first in device manager and bingo! It works.

My only grudge is that I had to solve the problem on my own as I did not get any help whatsoever from the Hauppauge people (neither after emailing them or posting in the forum).

    Hope this helps someone.

    Nick
