HVR 4400 not recognized

Hi,

I just got my WinTV HVR 4400 and tried to install it. Took me a while to change the BIOS settings of my ASUS P5VD2-X board to see the card in the hardware manager. It says now video controller for multimedia. Using the provided CD or the Windows 7 64bit automated options, I cannot install any driver. If I run the CD it says drivers have not been updated and I hence cannot install WinTV. Any advise what I can change or do differently to get this actually working?

Try the very latest driver in here:

Also if that doesn't work, please check Device Manager and check the "Hardware ID" of the card that it shows please and post it here

Thanks for the quick reply Mr. X. The card now works and I can watch TV! Brilliant!

However, I cannot get the remote control to work, is there also any updated drivers?

What type of remote do you have? is it a Media Center remote or a Hauppauge retail remote? Is this in WinTV?

Hi, it's the Hauppauge retail RC6 remote control TSHA-IR01 and I just downloaded and installed WinTV v7.0.28208. However, I didn't install any drivers. The remote control shows a green light when I press buttons and I am close to the IR anntena which is plugged into the card. I also rebooted but there is still no response. Thanks for your help.

Right - this is the Media Center remote (designed for use in Media Center mainly). Only a few keys work in WinTV right now. For the next release CD 2.1b (a few days away) - I added a huge amount of key mappings. The MCE button will even launch WinTV v7 now. Once you install CD 2.1b it should all work fine in WinTV v7.

Hi Mr X,

Thanks for the updated software package which I just installed. The TV works fine but I am still trying to get the remote control TSHA-IR01 to work. Using version 2.2 the remote control was recognized as "Hauppauge Consumer Infrared Receiver" and I now can see a Signal Monitor. However, the remote control doesn't work in WinTV even so the green light on the remote control is flashing (battery should be fine and I held it right next to the receiver). Do you have any tips on how to configure or how to get this up and running?
