Does it? I have Windows Vista 64 bit.
Does it? I have Windows Vista 64 bit.

It says it does on the product page!
I run on Windows 7-64 no problem
If you look in these forums you will see some people have more problems with Vista than XP or Windows 7. It is one of those pieces of equipment that requires a little coaxing into life.
If I switch TV channels from SD to HD I have to cycle the power on the HD-PVR because it hangs. If I Fast Forward it sometimes hangs. If I go into the TV schedule (which switches resolution) it sometimes hangs. The new drivers from July are a bit better in this respect though. I have to cycle the power so often I have a remote it!!
Having said that....When it works which it does most of the time, if you play by the rules, it produces excellent results easily as good as the original.
So it may work great for someone with Vista-64 and not for another. Make sure you buy it from someone who will take it back if it doesn't work for you.
I am planning on buying it on walmart.com, It says it has 1 year warranty and a return item option.
I live in us and on us site of hauppauge it says
Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit), Windows Vista or Windows XP service pack 2 (32-bit).
On UK, it says
Microsoft® Windows® 7 (32/64bit), Vista (32/64bit) or Windows XP Service Pack 3.
I'm confused![]()
Hope it works for you. I have recording 100's of hours of HD material with this thing, I would not be without it now!
Make sure the rest of your PC is up to the job otherwise it will frame stutter. At first I thought any old laptop would do but it needs a fairly fast machine.
I think I ran it on Vista-64 when I first got it. You should be OK. I'm in the UK but it's the same software. I have downloaded and installed the USA drivers in the past.
works fine for me on 64 bit vista

^^ Really?!? Wedding dresses? Really?!? GTFO
Anyways, Windows Vista 64-bit should work okay with the HD-PVR.
Windows Vista and Windows 7 are very, very similar operating systems. They are both Windows NT version 6 and use the same driver model. Just about any driver that works for Windows Vista 32-bit will also work with Windows 7 32-bit, and just about any driver that works with Windows Vista 64-bit will also work with Windows 7 64-bit and vice versa.
Windows Vista is "Windows NT 6.0" and Windows 7 is "Windows NT 6.1"...think of it as the difference between Windows 95 and Windows 98 (Windows 4.0 and Windows 4.1) or the difference between Windows 2000 and Windows XP (Windows NT 5.0 and Windows NT 5.1). *I know it seems strange that Windows NT 6.1 is called Windows 7, but it was the Microsoft Marketing department that picked the name in a desperate attempt to get people to forget about the debacle that was Windows Vista.
That said, Windows Vista blows at memory management. 2 GB of RAM may be painful. Windows XP (32-bit, there's no reason to waste your time with XP 64-bit) and Windows 7 are far better at memory management.
