Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
Im thinking of buying one of these but was wondering if this will work when recording from a TV that is 480p. I have an easycap capture card however when i switched my xbox 360 to pal 60hz with the component cables and not HDMI it would flicker and don't know why it done this, after trying my xbox on a different none hd tv it was fine anyway will the Hauppauge HD PVR work on a 480p TV, ill probably eventually upgrade my TV seeing as though the Hauppauge HD PVR records 720p and 1080p

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
The pvr shoud capture 480p fine. Will your easycap though try to look in the settings of the software to see if you can switch to NTSC, that will stop the flickering if the device can do 60hz.

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
Yeah on the program i used it i could change to NTSC and it was fine it was just my tv, its almost like my tv cant handle 60hz with a component as i had tried the tv without using the capture card.

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
oh then I would guess the pvr would do the same. Maybe try going into your tv options and selecting reset, that fixed my component problem to begin with, or just look around for other options.

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
Ive just sorted the TV flickering, so if I buy this http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/779139...8/Product.html will footage only be recorded in 480p as my TV is 480p or will it record in 720p?

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
It will record what ever the input source (Xbox / ps3 / sky) is...
For gaming, your max would probably be 480p since you will need your TV to play the game (As there is a delay on the PC side)..
For sky etc though, if you do not need to use the TV, then you could use the onscreen capture window on the PC (With a delay), which would then let you capture in 720p and 1080i, (IF the source has the ability to output 720 n 1080i)

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
Dont really understand lol. My TV can only go up to 480p but I can play on my TV what im asking is even though my TV only goes up to 480p will the Hauppauge HD PVR still be able to record at 720p, 1080p etc from my Xbox 360/PS3?

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
For gaming, then you will only be able to record up to 480P since that is the MAX your TV can handle, unless you play using the capture window on the PC. (But you wouldnt want to because theres a 1-2 second delay)...

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
ah ok so i would just get no signal on my tv or something if i set it to higher than that, in that case is it worth getting a Hauppauge HD PVR if i can only record in 480p?
-
Re: Hauppauge HD PVR 480p TV?
Yea you will get no signal...
It will depend if you will get a better TV in the future? Tbh your missing out on quite alot without having 720p / 1080i / 1080p lol....
Gaming in 720p or 1080i is where its at lol.... Especially if its online....
If your not going to get a new tv soon then, its probly best to stick with easycap, i thought the eazycap only captures up to 480i?
