Default Control KMPlayer with WinTV IR Remote ?

I have a WinTV HVR-4000 with the IR Remote receiver plugged in to the small jack on the back of the WinTV PCI card.

The remote works fine for WinTV - if I press the "TV" button on the remote, WinTV 7 launches.

I would like to control KMPlayer with this Remote.
With WinTV *not* running, and KMPlayer running, the buttons on the remote are simply ignored (except for the buttons which launch the Hauppauge programs).

Has anyone got a way to do use the WinTV HVR-4000's IR Remote to control KMPlayer please?

By the way, this is on a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system.

    Thanks.

U can edit the C:\WINDOWS\irremote.ini to add in the section for KMPlayer. I'm using it to control KMPlayer indeed.
