Default A Standalone Hauppauge HD PVR....

How good would this be...... Hauppauge to make the HD PVR standalone

onscreen menu driven system.... via your tv.... and just connect an external HDD.....

Let's face it.... how many people use the included remote ?
put it to better use and have it control the PVR !

I cant see this being too difficult.....

Then what would you do with the content once it's on your External HDD?

Plug it into a computer a Burn to disc as I do now.....

Yet to be able to record footage without the need of a computer initialy...
just hit record on a remote control..... alot easier dont you agree ?

I suppose, but given your going then plug it into a computer and then burn it to disc, it kind of seems to defeat the point no, since you need a PC.

Just my opinion. I'll pass your request onto the right people though.

    Good idea

Not everyone has their TV & Computer in the same room + most people I know have a USB HDD.

With my situation I would like to record my gameplay on PS3 console which is in the main TV room where my Hauppauge PVR would be, but to get the footage to the PC I have to either:-
    1. Connect a Laptop to my PVR
    or
    2. run 12m of USB cable from PVR to PC which is in my office & have to deal with all the problems associated with detected over that distance!

So yeah I think very good idea
