Will the PVR work on this laptop?
My current laptop is appaling so i am purchasing a new one. These are the specs of the one i am going to buy:
* Toshiba 15.6in/39cm Widescreen Laptop
* Intel Celeron T3000 Dual Core Processor
* 250GB hard drive
* 3072MB RAM
* CD-RW/DVD-RW drive can save files onto CD or DVD
* Windows® 7 Home Premium
I need it to record my 720p HD TV that my PS3 is connected to. I know how to set the PVR up i just need to know whether the laptop i am going to purchase is powerful enough to play HD files and capture from the PVR. Any replies are appreciated.
Thanks, XuHi

Re: Will the PVR work on this laptop?
it will record yes... your old laptop may be fine for recording too...
playback is what takes all the power... you DO NEED a fairly hefts graphics processor to play back these hd files smoothly.
a fast main Cpu cant do the work that even a mid range Gpu can when it comes to processing hd video so its very important to check the exact model number of the graphics in the laptop to make sure because many laptops have poor graphics which are in most case not upgradeable.
if theres anywhere that sells computers nearby you could take a disc with a sample file and ask them to see it playing on laptops with similar spec to make sure.
