    Default No BBC channels since switchover on Old Nova-T PCI (2.17g)

    I'm still not able to receive BBC channels on my Nova-T PCI since DSO at the Mendip transmitter.

    I'm running Windows 2000. I was previously running v1.44 of the software, but I've since downloaded and installed v2.18c (nova-pci218c.exe), but it makes no difference. The Nova-T can see that there is a good quality MUX on C61, but is unable to see the channels within it. I can receive channels from all the other Mendip muxes, only the BBC mux on C61 gives problems.

    I've tried both an aerial amplifier and an attenuator, it doesn't help. I've tried deleting all channels, scanning all frequencies and scanning just Mendip. I've also tried editing the Mendip INI file to include the move to C61. None of this helps.

    I've found this old thread
    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...ad.php?t=40073
    which mentions a registry fix called uk.reg.
    I can't find it on my v1.44 installation CDs.
    Any ideas on where I can get this file?

    Some additional information about this problem:
    The PCI card does not appear to have a 5/6 digit model number on it, but there is a label that says:
    WinTV Nova-t v1.20
    It's dated 2001.

    Can anyone help?

    I still use some of the old hauppauge (in reality re-badged technotrend) units: dec2000-t and the nova usb-t and came across this problem myself after the switchover.

    You need to edit a particular file in the 'program files\hauppauge\TerrFiles\' folder.

    e.g. for Wales, Presely the file number is 133.

    My old file reads:

    [SCAN]
    1=MHEG-5
    2=LCN
    [TERTYPE]
    1=Wales
    2=Presely
    [DVB]
    0=6
    1=C47,682.000,0,0,2
    2=C51,714.000,0,0,2
    3=C39,618.000,0,0,2
    4=C42,642.000,0,0,2
    5=C45,666.000,0,0,2
    6=C49,698.000,0,0,2

    I edited the last 6 lines to:

    1=C42,642.000,0,0,2
    2=C43,650.000,0,0,2
    3=C45,666.000,0,0,2
    4=C46,674.000,0,0,2
    5=C49,698.000,0,0,2
    6=C50,706.000,0,0,2

    If you're in a different area, your frequencies will be different. Open up the particular file for your local transmitter with notepad to edit the freqencies/ channels that channged after switchover.

    BTW, I was looking in this forum for info on alternative software to use with the slightly newer hauppauge t usb2 - I don't like the WinTV7 application much. I much prefer the older technotrend software, where you can select a channel and quickly select programs to record for the week ahead. With the WinTV7 application it takes forever to accomplish the same job - you have to scroll sideways at snail's pace.
