I've had problems with all versions of WinTV 7 up to 1.3b - when watching a show and attempting to move to another place in the viewing buffer (i.e., hitting one of the on-screen back arrows to back up a minute and re-view a portion of a show or clicking on a spot on the green bar), the program will sometimes "hang," that is, the picture will freeze, sometimes for a few seconds or minutes, sometimes permanently. I wrote about this problem in this forum back on Nov. 18th 2009, with log files included.

Version 1.3c solved this problem with respect to QAM programs - if I'm viewing a QAM channel, I can pretty much hit back or forward arrows or click on the green bar to my hearts content without any more than an occasional few second delay (until the occurrence of a different problem, described below).

However, the problem is still as bad as ever on analog channels, to the point that the DVR functionality of WinTV is unusable for analog channels. Also, for QAM channels, there is still a problem (that I wrote about here on Nov. 19th) that once the video IS delayed (e.g. I have hit one of the back buttons to delay the show a minute), then after a few minutes, the green/blue bar turns all blue or disappears, and I can't move around any further in the buffer, i.e. all attempts to use the back or forward arrows or click on the bar fail - the program continues, but I am "stuck" at the delay I previously had initiated.

One thing I've noticed with the analog channel problem - when I install a new version of WinTV 7, the problem occurs much less frequently right after the installation, but returns to it's familiar frequency of occurrence after a few days of TV watching.

Does anyone know what's going on here, inside the program? Does anyone have any ideas on how to avoid this problem? I've tried all different combinations of renderers, screen sizes, etc.

Could someone at Hauppauge here please just acknowledge that this is a known problem that Hauppauge is working on (or not working on, as the case may be)?

To repeat from my previous posts, I have a 950Q which I use on two different Vista Ultimate, Core-2-Duo machines with 3G memory each, and which have very different video setups (one's a desktop, one's a notebook)) - same WInTV 7 problems. I have TimeWarner cable.
