Pause buffer stopped working
Hello, for ages now i have been using wintv 1.2c and i've had the usual jittering dvb-t and sometimes composite.
anyway today dvb-t just said 'no signal' so i reinstalled wintv, but this time i customised the install directories. after install i didn't notice anything different, the dvb-t still said 'no signal' so i moved the aerial around a lot and then it worked!
but also, now after the reinstall, the pause buffer 'isn't buffering' in that it creates the usual livetv-xy.ts in the pause buffer directory, but it doesn't increase in size at all (i tried copying it to see, as i know it always displays 0 in size while data is being written to it). essentially, i can't rewind or pause my video; i can pause it ok but when i click play again it jumps to the very latest, because no previous data is stored. what's even weirder is i see new livetv-xy.ts files being created, all with 0 filesize (as if it was buffering the normal way it's supposed to).
the thing is, there is plenty of diskspace left (9GB); also I have the pause buffer set to 30 minutes (since i installed it freshly it wouldn't be different from the default anyway) so i don't really know what to make of it. anyway i've attached a log.txt in the hope it can be solved, but i'm guessing nothing will rear its ugly head straight away.

Re: Pause buffer stopped working
as usual i forgot to mention something. when i reinstalled, i customised the install path and the directories for storing recordings etc. could this have something to do with it?
when the pause buffer initially stopped working, i had installed in the default manner, so i can't imagine why it happened then.

Re: Pause buffer stopped working
Probably a permissions issue ot the pause buffer folder. What location did you set the paue buffer folder to? You can't use anywhere like C:\Program Files\ for instance

Re: Pause buffer stopped working
I installed wintv into an alternate partition, and i set the buffer dir to a folder called 'TEMP' in the root of this partition (so something like D:\TEMP was the pause buffer, and wintv I installed to D:\Programs\...this folder is not windows-related; i created it manually as my OS is installed in C:\.)
i doubt it to be a permissions issue since i'm logged in as 'Administrator' as i need this kind of permission for nearly everything i do anyway...i'm using windows XP, not vista/win7.
anyway i haven't had the problem since - all i do now is install wintv with its default settings then go into configuration and then change the pause buffer path etc, and it works fine.

Re: Pause buffer stopped working
oh well glad it's working.
The Capture Plugins are run as the "System" user though which has different permissions to your local user account.
