Those files are used for timeshifting, so that you can pause or rewind live TV. When you close WinTV they will be deleted.
I believe that there is a setting to disable timeshifting, if you really want to do that.
I just got a WinTV-HVR 950Q and using WinTV v7.
My problem is whenever I watch a channel using WinTV v7 it starts recording and is eating up my hard drive. I don't have it to auto record or any kind of schedule.
Theres a "Pause Buffer" folder i guess wintv installed and when I open it after starting to watch a program, theres recorded files (.ts)
for example, files are called
livetv-5735 (its 1.23 GB)
livetv-5735-2 (its 868 MB and increasing as I type this)
Theres a green bar that scrolls above the controls that indicates recording in process.
I just want to watch channels without recording anything. Is there a setting to turn this function off?
thanks

Oh I see, Thank you. I just noticed when I change channels it will also delete the channel file i was watching and start up again on the new channel.
If you could tell me how to disable timeshiftting , i would be grateful. Is this just a convenient feature of wintv? and can I disable it without causing any adverse effects to watching different channels.
I don't need this feature and would rather have it leave my hard drive alone instead of recording.
thanks
I figured it out nowchanged disk buffering size to 0 minutes. now no more recording.
