1.2a - Remote not working in HVR-1300 and 2200 multiboard installation

I'm looking for a solution to use the Hauppauge remote with WinTV and MS MCE remote with MS Media Center in Vista/Windows 7.

Installed is HVR-1300 and HVR-2200 in a multiboard environment. The HVR-1300 remote sensor is connected to the 1300 board as I have no remote for the 2200 board. As I understand it, the 1300's remote should be able to control both of the boards.

The problem is that during installation of WinTV I only get the option to install the WinTV application - not the IR as in the old days of WinTV 4.6.
And when running ir.exe manually, the IR icon is nowhere to been seen and the remote does not work. Now and then I have tried every new WinTV revisions, now the latest 1.2a without any luck.

I recently brought only the 1300 board and its corresponding remote to a local service and they were tested Ok.

Is this supposed to work as I describe? Any solutions??

Try chaning this reg key to the following value. It should hopefully make it use the HVR-1300:

HKLM\Software\Hauppauge\HCWTVWND\
VcapFilter="Hauppauge WinTV 88x Video Capture"

or try running IR.exe /IRZ8 (edit the start menu shortcut)

That solved it Mr. X! In the registry there was a reference for a non-existing remote on the 2200 card as you suggested.

But now that the remote is working, I see that the "menu" button only pops-up the WinTV channel selection, instead of the whole menu with scheduler, epg, channel selection, configuration etc. Also, I don´t see a button to open up the recording folder. Both must be configurable somewhere... otherwise it works well

The menu does indeed pop up the channel list (which is navigatable with the remote)

It doesn't bring up Config and we don't open the recordings folder as these aren't controllable with the remote once you get there.

Glad it's working. Seems like the 2200 driver was installed last and hence put it's VCapFilter there

I changed irremote.ini so that for the menu button I get same function as right-mouse click. And in the future, it would be a nice if one can use the remote to choose, play and schedule recordings within WinTV.

WinTV is slowly getting to the point I can skip MCE with it´s proprietary .wtv format
