scheduler, titanTV, 6 vs. 7, newbie questions
Hi all,
newbie here, and am so confused. I just picked up a WinTV-HVR-1250 card and installed it today on a xp pro machine, and everything works fine, but I have some questions hopefully someone can help me clear things up.
looking at the winTV7 user manual, there's a 'TV guide' option but mine doesn't have this (is it because I'm in the U.S.? i've read on this forum something to that effect but just wanted to make sure). btw, i was only hooking up an analog signal so is that why? and how is this 'TV guide' different from titanTV? I saw 'titanTV' being mentioned several times on this forum and am just wondering if it's the same as 'TV guide'.
the more confusing thing is, when I looked at the WinTV6 features, it says:
"This version of the Hauppauge WinTV v6 Scheduler supports TitanTV, the web based TV electronic program guide"
so I don't know if this Titan TV scheduler was supported in WinTV6 but not WinTV7, or if it's also available in WinTV7 but somehow I messed up somewhere along the way. or if it's the card that I got.... (vs. the higher end 1600/1850/2250), or I'm in U.S....
if someone can clear things up for me, that would be much much appreciated
thanks!

Re: scheduler, titanTV, 6 vs. 7, newbie questions
The only function currently available is Watch or Record from TitanTV. The Remote scheduler does not currently work. Also after loading WinTv 7 you must also follow the instruction in this link to keep from having issues with .Net with WinTv7 http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=17909
If you read this thread per the link you will save yourself much grief

Hi sl96734,
Yes, titan tv is free and available for your use. See: http://www.titantv.com/ Not sure how to utilize it with wintv v7 though.... Hopefully someone will respond and clarify.

you mean it works for wintv v6 ? and it's integrated, meaning you can click on certain shows and tell it to watch or record (or something similar to that)?
thanks.

Re: scheduler, titanTV, 6 vs. 7, newbie questions
There was a version of Wintv6 that allowed one to set your recordings with Titan tv. It was pretty slick although not always reliable (ie failed to occasionally record). Apparently one can use titan tv along with wintv v7 as well but it is hard to find documentation.
