hi. im new here but aint new to this hardware
thing is ive bought this Hauppauge HD PVR 1218 from play.com like 6+ months ago. and its been super fine uptill today
last week i updated the drivers and stuff so it was all good.
it was still ok till i started to get ultra slow laggy video previews of my recordings. i thought it might be my gfx card or something but its a 9600GT all up to date drivers ect..
then today i pluged in as normal ready to cap some video clips. and oops!
thing locked up and rebooted my computer?
ok i thought ill try again.. nope did the same thing..
so i uninstalled the new beta drivers and try to install the old ones of the CD that came with it.
ok i got to the point where it all installed, rebooted. turn it on. and oh no.
Device not Found?
and now i cant install the drivers or update them?
ive uninstalled and reinstalled like 3 times now and nothing is working.
the little blue light is on next to the power on button, but then i get the msg about the usb device ect.
this is so sad
ive used this sweet hardware without fault since day one and now its all gone poop on me. is there something im doing wrong?

well its been nearl 4 days.. i think i should ring them about my RMA number..
well its been a looooooong time now since i RMA this back to them.. and i have not heard anything back as of yet.
i even phone cs for 2 days but was kept on hold for over 20 minutes each time, so i gave up.
what service is this?
why cant i find out if they recived my PVR? i mean a little email telling me they have got it wouldnt be so hard would it? or some sort of update?
so they say it can take up to 4 weeks to repair the HDPVR. but its been 4 weeks and not a word.
is there anyone on here that can help me find out whats going on.
because this thing aint cheap you know! and i would need to do something about it if it was lost or something, or stolen!
got no returns from any of the guys who email me about RMA or the guy in Ireland who i had to send it to.

if you live in the uk, play.com would have to refund or replace upto a reasonable amount of time.
If you have had it less than a year - your entitled to a replacement you know.
