Picture flickering during bright scenes
Hi there,
I've had my HD PVR for about 3 weeks now and I have to say it's a great product. I do however have 1 problem with it that I hope someone can help me with.
I have the box connected so it's passing through the component signal from my Xbox 360, which is working great, although if I come across a part of the game that has a lot of white on it (explosions, portals, flashbacks etc etc.) the picture skews and then goes out altogether. Sound continues ok and once the bright object is off the screen the display comes back, but I wondered what the problem might be?
I checked through a video I recorded while this was happening and it doesn't show up, which leads me to think it could be the component cable from the PVR to the TV....
Has anyone else come across this, or have any suggestions?

Re: Picture flickering during bright scenes
Does it happen just in the game? or have you seen it in any others <whats the game btw?>
Will have a check with a white screen here when i get a chance. Are you able to watch the PC while this is happening, does TME show the same behaviour or is it just on the TV screen??

Re: Picture flickering during bright scenes
It's happened both in games and also when we were playing a dvd. It's happened in a couple of games, Oblivion and Kane & Lynch it tended to happen in more as they had more full white screens.
The PC seems to be fine, I checked a video I'd recorded at a point where the tv was flickering and it was fine, which leads me to believe it could be the component cable(?).

Re: Picture flickering during bright scenes
Happens to me in Halo 3, I'm outputting from the card through component into a component to VGA adapter that I rigged together and into my second computer monitor. The picture is tinted green because component is yellow, red, blue and VGA is green, red, blue, but it works. In large explosions the picture on the monitor goes out and if it stays out too long the monitor switches input back to digital (my computer). It's annoying but I think it's just how it is.

Picture flickering during bright scenes
I Deinstalled now everything installed first the Driver from the CD and then the TME from CD and test if its work on my Vista x64 and result? It Work without flickering and the actually driver for Vista x64 the only problem is Videodecoder now Show me As NTSC_M not PAL_B <-- im German and Play PAL and i can only choose recording format .ts so it looks for me the problem comes from the TME.
I also installed then the Latest Beta Driver from the Page and it works also without Flickering in the Picture.
So my Question is it possible that the Actually TME dont work fine with the latest beta driver of the HD PVR?
