Hi All,

Following the change over from DVB-S to DVB-S2 broadcasts for BBC HD service, and an upgrade of my HVR4000 drivers to compensate for this, media centre now has an unsoolvable problem.

My current setup is as follws: -

Windows 7 Ultimate x86
Ati Radeon HD3650
AMD 7450 Dual Core
2 GB Ram
HVR4000
Kworld USB 395U

The problem:
When changing from a High Definition Channel (HD) to Standard Definition Tuner, media centre crashes and takes the computer down with it. Only way of getting back to watchiing TV is turning the computer off from the power swtich. Note that my setup has both a USB tuner and the HVR4000. However, the problem happens when changing between DVB-S and DVB-S2 provided by the HVR4000

My research has led me to believe that this may be a codec issue but for anyone who's tried, getting media centre 7 to provide live TV for both SD and HD broadcasts is damn near impossible (anyone with a good method for doing this for both HD & SD playback let me know). The only thing with this theory is that there wasn't an issue when using 2.2d version of the HVR4000 driver when BBC were broadcasting in DVB-S

Here's what I've tried so far: -
1. Windows 7 clean install
2. New ATI driver (11.6)
3. New Hauppage driver (2.3g)
4. New Kworld Driver
5. Retune all tuners (includes use MCE tool for updating the sateillite database).
6. Various codec setups (including simple, complex and complete reworking [albeit based on a limited knowledge of codecs])

I'm at a loss of where to go next, not being able to find another with a similar problem.

I wanted to post an error log from the tuner and/or mce and/or windows but am unsure of where to find them. If no one has an idea of how to fix this problem or has had a similar problem, knowing how to get hold of each of these logs would be a good start.

If any more detail on my hardware / sofwtare setup is reqired let me know

Cheers
Mike
