Users of HVR-4400 cards or Nova-HD-USB2 products do NOT need to use this. Those using WinTV v7 should simply ensure they are using CD 2.3g or greater to receive BBC HD and BBC One HD.

1. Ensure you are using the latest drivers from CD 2.3f or greater.

2. Download and run the DVB-S2 Patch here:

www.wintvcd.co.uk/downloads/mcedvbs2/MCEDVBS2PatchTool.exe

Media Center assumes "auto" for certain tuning parameters (Modulation, RollOff, Pilot, FEC) but the HVR-4000 and NOVA-HD-S2 requires these tuning paramters to be specified, like they are in WinTV v7. This tool will allow you to import the latest Satellite information into the registry which the HVR-4000 or NOVA-HD-S2 will read when Media Center tunes to that particular frequency.

3. Press "Load Satellite Data"

4. Select the satellite you are using. For the UK this will be 28.2E ASTRA 2, EUROBIRD 1 and press Import

5. You will now need to reboot your PC.

6. Setup is complete. Now perform a single transponder scan in Media Center. Go to Settings -> TV -> TV Signal -> Satellite Transponder Scan

The tuning details are:

Carrier Frequency 10847MHz
Symbol Rate = 23000 kSymbols/s
Polarity = Vertical

Additionally Channel 4 HD:

Carrier Frequency 12607MHz
Symbol Rate = 27500 kSymbols/s
Polarity = Vertical

BBC HD will already be in the Guide as 108 and once the patch is applied will be viewable. The others will be added.

Advanced Information:

Some users have asked how to manually edit this information?

1. Download the latest satellites.xml from:

www.wintvcd.co.uk/sat/wintv7/satellites.xml

Save this someone (e.g. Desktop)

Edit the file in NotePad and go to the section you wish to make changes in (e.g. 28.2E ASTRA 2, EUROBIRD 1)

You can add or remove frequencies as required and then save the file.

2. Do NOT press Load Satellite Data yet, but press the down arrow at the end of the URL bar and choose "..browse.."

3. Navigate to the updated satellites.xml file on your hard drive.

4. The location of the file will now be selected. Click "Load Satellite Data" and the updated information will be imported.

Where does the data go once it's imported?

The following registry key(s) are used, if you wish to manually change anything:
