View Full Version : ITV channels lost after 13th Apr switchover at Sandy Heath

On 13th April all analogue signals from Sandy Heath (East Anglia) were switched off and the digital channels shifted requiring all freeview boxes to be retuned.

I've just done that and WinTV found the ITV/E4/Ch4 channels but "No Signal" is displayed. I then retuned using the "all regions" option but got the same result.

Channels showing "no signal" include ITV1, ITV2, Channel 4, E4, More 4, and some others. BBC channels are fine.

I don't believe Sandy Heath will be making any further major changes, so is there a fix for this please?

(When is Hauppage launching a DVB-T2 HD external tuner please? Ideally one that can record+view from 2 channels on the same MUX or one with dual tuners. One has been rumoured.)

Thank you.

Make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest WinTV7 from the support website and scan for channels again after uninstalling and re-installing.

Also after installation click on start / all programs / hauppauge wintv / advanced options / empty channel database and then scan again.

Thanks for the advice. I uninstalled, rebooted, installed, emptied database, tuned to Anglia/Sandy Heath and it found just 29 channels!

I'm running CD 2.3d - the latest so I'm not sure what's wrong?

I've now retuned again using All Regions and it found 86 channels which I'm happy about, but it takes ages to scan all of the frequences.

On a separate issue, I notice whenever I re-install the time it takes to channel hop speeds up. After a few weeks of use it slows down to about 5 secs delay between channel changes. Are there any files I can delete to speed it up again or is re-installing the only way? Thanks.

I've certainly not seen that here, and there is no difference between channels straight after install vs a few weeks later, so no files or anything you could delete to change things.

The local Sandy Heath transmitter list is slightly out of date - you should use All Regions for now. CD 2.3e web download will have this fixed in.

Can you post the log.txt from a sessions where it takes 5 seconds or more on channel change, I also can't understand that one, but the log.txt should help us see.

In a few weeks when the delay increases again I will post the log.txt file. My claim that it happens isn't dubious. I really wouldn't waste my time reporting it if it didn't happen, let alone waste yours. I will do a screen recording if I have to prove it to you guys.

Thanks,
Gary.

How's it working?

Thanks for asking, Mr X. I recently had to reinstall several apps including WinTV because chkdsk tried to repair some disk errors and ended up zero-byting several critical files. Humph. :-( I will start again.
