Hello,

Apologies if this has been fixed/asked before, but I have been searching through the forums and although I can find people having this issue (and fixes released) for other cards, I cannot see a fix for my card (WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2).

When the computer resumes from standby (S3) I get a tuner error in MediaCentre (apologies that this is a bit vague; I am at work at the moment but will post up the exact error tonight when i get home).
A reboot fixes the problem, but this means I have to always shutdown the PC and can't set to record without leaving it on permanently.

I have tried the MCE standby tool someone mentioned in another thread but this doesn't work for me.

Is a fix available already or is there one in the pipeline?

Many Thanks

Do you get 'tuner not available' or words to that effect in WMC?
There was a hotfix issued by M'soft but I think it's included in their last roll-up. Check your update history and make sure you select the advanced/custom search for updates.

Do you use the MCE tool to shut down and restart Media Center (eHome)? That fixes most problems for me.

The PC is up to date with all the latest windows updates and I have always installed optional WMC updates too. I seem to remember the fix you mention but i will have a look again.

Stig, do you mean shutdown and restart media centre when resuming from S3? I did have a good tinker with the tool, but maybe i'll revisit it again.

Unfortunately I am currently unable to test any of these things as water came through the ceiling in our front room last week and as a consequence I have had to move everything out of there until it is all repaired (TV, HTPC, everything).

I will check these suggestions once it is all sorted though; thankyou for the suggestions.

I have a similar issue with my NOVA-TD-500, but only since I added a NOVA-HD-S2 to my system.

Just wondered if you ever found a solution to this?

The MCE Standby Tool (http://slicksolutions.eu/cgi-bin/download.cgi?download=mst0.9.100.exe) (MST) solves most of my problems.

If that includes getting driver updates via 'Windows Update' my advice would be - don't. I've found a couple of drivers that when installed through Windows Update caused me real problems.

Get motherboard, network and sound drivers from the motherboard manufacturer (assuming you use onboard NIC and Sound) then graphics from Nvidia/AMD or whoever - basically drivers from the manufacturer not Microsoft. And always install motherboard drivers first.
