I am running Windows 7 Media Center and just replaced my PVR-500 with a HVR-1800. the Analog tuner on the 1800 works great. the ATSC works great when hooked to an antenna. Clear QAM on the other hand does not work at all.
In MCE when I scan for Channels I get "no Signal" on the QAM (once again analog is fine). I have tried using the same piece of coax that is also plugged into my HDTV (that does get QAM stations), but I am getting no luck. even when I look at the Hauppauge Signal Strength tool it says no signal strength on QAM.
I do not have the original CD so I can't try WinTV :(
Thanks in Advance for Help.

In a stroke of luck I found the Original WinTV CD and installed the newest version of WinTV off of the website. Problem is I still Can't tune Clear QAM Channels in WinTV7. I have tried selecting both "Default" and "HRC" but no channels are found :(
I then tried the ClearQAM_PowerTow reg key found here (http://mikewren.com/howto-clear-qam-vista). please Help, I don't know where to go from here.

I have now tried going straight from the wall to the HVR-1800 and still no luck.
I saw on line that this card does not like cable signal that is "too hot", and I have been told by comcast that my cable strength is at the top of the scale. so I took every cable splitter I could find and linked them all together (I am reaching here, I know) and still no signal found. then I thought that maybe it was not enough signal strength so I went straight from the wall and added a "in-line amplifier"... still nothing :( I don't know what else to do...

I contacted Support and they said that the QAM tuner may be broken and to send it in for testing, but no one will get back in touch with me to tell me how to send it back:(

Did you ever get this resolved? I think I have the same issue except I haven't heard back from support on my initial query. I am in the US if that matters.
