Only a few weeks ago TV3 (Ireland) was coming in DVB-T fine, they had been having a few issues with audio sync etc but then they fixed it, however now when I tune tv3 in on DVB-T yes it appears but when I tune in all I get is a black screen...have they moved?

The same thing kind of happened with TG4 except for about a week or so I was looking at those colored signal bars you see when a channel is off-air or testing...but TV3 is just black...any ideas? Thanks!

Taking a look at an Irish board where there is a lot of discussion of digital in Ireland, seems a lot of people if not everyone has lost TV3. Apparently RTÉ NL have decided to replace the encoder following the lip sync issues, which is why it's currently unavailable.

I swear I googled a lot about it already, and apart from a few irish forums talking about tv3 and other channels being 'replaced' and some Australian TV3, that's all I've found. Most of the posts are years old anyway...

Could you pm the link to the forum you saw this in? I wouldn't have expected RTENL to have anything to do with TV3, except maybe because I didn't read about it - is the 'new encoder' going to require something other than a H264 decoder?

Thanks for the info btw, appreciate it! :)

This is the board I'm looking at: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=56
Scroll down and you'll see a thread called "TV3: No Reception".

I imagine RTÉ NL have been tasked with carrying all the PSB's on their multiplex. As the receiver specifications have been published, I would be surprised if the new encoder isn't just another H264 one.
