Are you using CD 2.0 or the latest? Which driver version do have installed?
It might be worth running this:
http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml
See whether the break up corresponds to peaks in latency.

Hi, it's version 1.5.6.0, CD 2.3
Will try that link and see what happens, thanks.
Green bars all the way, even when recording.

Installing 2.0 should fix it.
I've yet to experiment to see what to true cause is, i might do it later if i get round to it.

Where do I get 2 at? Thanks.
Scrub that, found the file you uploaded, thanks, will try that.
I wasn't sure if what you guy's were getting was the same problem I am seeing, I suppose it does look like a small jump when you play it back, I managed to find the frames that were doing it and noticed the weird blocky artifacts.
Anyway, thanks again.

No luck, Installed V 2.0 but getting the exact same problem, preview window is alot smoother though.
Maybe the drivers? Not sure how to get rid of the old drivers though.
Is there no other software you can use to capture with this device?

Tripple post, but hey.
Ok, managed to get back to V2.0 with the old drivers, Doesn't like AAC audio but no more skipping and artifacts, come on Hauppauge get this sorted, I'm off to make a video for YouTube on this problem.

So it's looking to be the drivers that are causing the issues then, hmmmmm...
Well, i'm glad your problem is fixed, been getting alot of guys with the same issue coming on here. Would be nice if website admins was to host a CD rip of 2.0, but i've been told they refuse to do so... Which is bad customer support, especially since they have a section thats been dedicated for a such thing.

To be honest my friend, If you hadn't helped me sort this out then I would have been sending it back for a full refund, because using what came in the box with the latest sotware simply doesn't work, not fit for purpose.
I thank you, and so should Hauppauge.

Am I right in thinking:
Arcsoft CD v2.3 and driver x.x.xxxx shows artefacts
Arcsoft CD v2.3 and driver y.y.yyyy doesn't show artefacts
Arcsoft CD v2.0 and driver x.x.xxxx shows artefacts
Arcsoft CD v2.0 and driver y.y.yyyy doesn't show artefacts
Is that correct?
Can somebody fill in the driver versions x and y if that's the case.
