I live in Poland and I`m going to buy hauppauge pvrhd 1212 in USA. Is true HDPVR will NOT work with 25/50Hz only 30/60Hz. Can I use in Poland ? or this means that device converts and captures input signal 1080i/25fps(in Poland) to 1080/29,97fps. I`m sorry for my english.

Given that Hauppauge have produced two separate models of the HD-PVR with Model 12xx in the US and Model 49xx in the UK I think it is reasonable to assume that the US model will only record 30/60 and the UK model will only record 25/50. I sincerely doubt there is any frame-rate conversion going on in the codec. That is to say if you try to record 1080/50i on the US model I doubt it would work. Similarly if you tried to record 1080/60i on the UK model I doubt it would work.

This is only an OPINION ... I suggest you give Hauppauge PreSales a call and ask them before you buy the product.

You have me curious now. I am in the UK bought one of these from Play and what arrived was a 1228 model.

Should I have been sent a different model?

49xxx is the model range of the HD-PVR, doesnt matter if its from the US, Europe or Outer Mongolia. 1228 is the SKU number of the retail packaging for the UK.
