View Full Version : Thin black strips on right/top of recording

I'm recording through component from an Xbox 360, 720p, with 5.1 audio through S/PDIF.

That said, there are annoying black lines on the right and top of every video I record. You don't see them in playback if you're using Windows Media Player because the background of the player is black, but I see them in editing, most commonly when it's a light editor background and lighter video content. It's really annoying because it messes with keying and stuff like that if I'm trying to color key in an edit, and just because it looks tacky. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

Has anyone else had this problem or have any advice as to what I should do to try and fix it?

HI,

havent noticed that myself, will have to check it. Does it happen on every game? Does it happen on the dashboard as well? Looks like slight overscan maybe.

I get it on every recording be it Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii. Would be nice to be able to crop before recording maybe.

Yeah, like glidem, it happens with everything I've ever recorded. I mean, it's not a HUGE issue, it's just really annoying.

for some reason it happens with several different capture devices i have tried so it's just a case of cropping them out which is not overly an issue
